Personal Development by Reading Month 1
Alright guys, I’ve just finished the first four weeks of my new lifestyle design. I’ve cleared out all but the necessary screen time in my life and replaced it with good ol’ fashion reading, writing, meditation, journaling, and exercise.
How did it go? I’m excited to say, better than expected! In total I finished 8 books this month, seven physical and one audio. Awaken the Giant Within, The Blood Sugar Solution, The Tapping Solution, The Kybalion, The Emerald Tablet of Hermes, The Hermetica, and the Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing are all pictured above. The audio book I finished this month is called Becoming Supernatural and it is written by Dr. Joe Dispenza.
As you can see my interests of the month range from the woo woo to 100% practical guidance, and if you have ever held a long enough conversation with me in person you’ll know that these range of subjects reflect my personality perfectly.
So, what did I get out of this months studies? As a starter, I gained many tools that will help me day to day. From having Tony Robbins as my personal excellence coach in Awaken the Giant Within, giving me so many tools to affect huge, immediate change in my life, to Dr. Mark Hyman providing practical steps on how to finally cure myself of diabetes in The Blood Sugar Solution (I’ve dropped an average of 25 blood sugar points in the last two weeks), I’ve been truly blessed thanks to finally picking up these books and reading them!
On the more spiritual side I was graced early this month with The Kybalion. It’s a crash course in Hermetic philosophy, a super fast read and it speaks to me on the heart level. For those of you who do not know who Hermes Trismegistus is or his teaching my one sentence summary is, everything we find in modern religion/magick is distilled down to its basics here. Obviously I kept going down this rabbit hole, with the Emerald Tablet of Hermes and the Hermetica. All three of these books are super fast reads, but the amount of wisdom in each is simply priceless and I’m sure when I feel like I’m a little out of sync with the Universe I’ll be consulting with them again.
Needless to say I have grown a lot, and leveraged a huge amount of personal development in a few short weeks… I’m hooked! Below this will be my new one month challenge, so remember if you’re ready to leverage your time and to continue to grow and expand, then join me in this challenge and share it with your friends, family, coworkers, heck even your enemies! At the end of this article I’ve provided you with the title, author and a link to each of these life changing reads so that you can go pick up a copy of your own! Remember, purchasing from these links helps to support No More Shelf Help and I can’t express enough how much I appreciate that!
Awaken the Giant Within by Tony Robbins
You wanna change your life? Read this book, read it all, do all the work, make extra print outs and practice the action steps every day. This book has given me so much firepower to take life by the horns, hugely recommended.
The Blood Sugar Solution by Mark Hyman M.D.
If you are a diabetic, or have high blood sugar, then you really need to read this. Doc Hyman gives you all the tools, recipes and supplements to take your health back. Please, as a fellow person struggling with this dis-ease, do your self a favor and pick up a copy of this book.
The Tapping Solution by Nick Ortner
Do you think you’ve moved past that time Sally said you looked fat in that pair of really nice skinny jeans you used to have back in eighth grade? If you’re like me you probably haven’t and even though Sally has no idea what she’s talking about, you’re probably hiding that emotional trauma somewhere in your body. Maybe it’s showing up as that lower back pain, or that tight right shoulder. Do you want to fix it? Get this book, it’s like magic, I go into more depth here.
The Kybalion by Three Initiates
There are seven principles that this book goes over and they make a lot of sense to me in a spiritual and scientific way. This may not be everyone’s bag but it’s a quick read and I think there is at least something for everyone here.
The Emerald Tablet of Hermes by Hermes Trismegistus
The same tablet, reinterpreted several times. Not a long read, and if anything it’s just interesting to see the different interpretations. Plus – it’s cheap!
The Hermetica by Timothy Freke and Peter Gandy
Once again a really quick read. Modern translations of Hermes word coming from several sources. Really beautiful read and the bibliography is worth the price of admission alone.
Quick Start Guide to Affiliate Marketing by Geno Prussakov
This took me a night to finish and there is lots of good info. Formatted in a question and answer style, it’s very easy to find what you are looking for. This would be a good reference for anyone just starting out in affiliate marketing.
